Sponsoring the Central Coast AirFest
Sep 27, 2023
The Central Coast AirFest is back for another action packed weekend with military demos, vintage warbirds, aerobatics, and more! AirFest has proven to be a wonderful community event embraced by the entire Santa Maria Valley. And 2023 also marks the 120th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' first flight! Jim Bray, Airfest Sponsorship Coordinator, is seeking sponsors for 2023's Central Coast AirFest as Planes of Fame Air Museum intends on expanding in the Santa Maria area. This is the second year Planes of Fame will help spearhead the annual air show as the organization looks to expand North. Last year, the Planes of Fame announced plans to expand to Santa Maria after obtaining a 23-acre lease from the airport near the Santa Maria Radisson. Plans call for developing the project in three phases, with the first being a 56,000 square foot hanger with an aircraft display, a maintenance shop, an auditorium, and more. It could be done by January 2023. Aviation is one of the fastest-growing technologies in the history of mankind, as it is ever evolving and ever changing. The museum looks to preserve aviation history by restoring aircraft, inspire an interest in aviation, educate people, and honor aviators. |
