After a four year absence of participating in the Lompoc Children's Parade, Lompoc Rotary had a float that was all decked out! We had several Rotarians, Interactors family, friends and pets participate!
On December 9th we donated $1,000 to Sleep in Heavenly Peace to help them purchase portable tool batteries. Several Rotarians and Interactors helped build 50 beds for Lompoc Kids. No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!
Christmas Party and 3 Paul Harris Awards were given out.
Paul Harris Awards were given to Jim Lowsley, Sylvia King, and Mike Dulay.
I thought that the end of the year was going to be chill, but boy was I wrong! Lompoc Rotary participated in many events: we donated food to Awakening Giantz so that they could have their annual Friendsgiving dinner. Awakening Giantz is a non-profit that supports young adults that have been impacted by and timed out of Foster Care. We decorated Rob’s trailer and participated in the Lompoc Christmas Children’s parade. We donated funds and helped build 50 beds for children in our community via the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization. Lastly, we had a great time at our Christmas dinner and played lots of fun trivia games. In addition to this, our scholarship applications are now available on our website and our Youth Chair is busy working on RYLA applications.
